Deniz Celikel, the founder of our company, began her career as a high school student working in various roles, including at TRT and Turkey's first private radio station. She prepared and presented programs on radio and television and continued to work as a speaker and programmer until she graduated from Middle East Technical University. After graduation, she worked as a statistician, programmer, software developer, and web designer.
Mrs. Deniz Celikel is a member of AIPPI and PEM, and not only a registered patent and trademark attorney and Intellectual Property expert witness (Civil Courts for Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights) but also a computer programmer and web designer since 1990. She has developed two software programs (DesiIPSoft® and DesiSoft®) specifically for IP matters. Given her primary expertise in IP matters, we believe the software she has created is among the most capable in the world. One of them is used for searching and viewing all published IP matters in Turkey, while the other is designed for managing clients’ files and allows for the preparation of detailed reports about their applications.
In addition to being a sworn translator, she is also a part-time lecturer in Turkey and abroad, teaching SQL, software development, data mining, database management, and intellectual property rights.
She has authored several published books and articles. Her first book, "Decisions of the CJEU in Trademark Law and Customary Interpretation" was published in 2020. The first and second editions sold out in just two months, with an additional edition published in 2021 and an extended third edition in 2024, which also achieved a high sell-through rate within a week.
Her second book, “Interpretation of the IPC in light of the decisions of the European Court of Justice (CJEU) Decisions” and her third book, “Interpretation of CJEU Approach to the Trademark Goods and Services Comparison” were also published in 2024. The first two books were unique in their genre, and the latter is the first and only book in its field. All books are available at many libraries, including the Harvard Law School Library, where she lectures as a guest instructor.
Finally, by expanding his professional endeavors, Deniz Celikel established Desi Global Limited in the United Kingdom and Desi Europe d.o.o. in Montenegro, further strengthening his commitment to providing intellectual property services on a global scale as the first and only Turkish authorized practitioner by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPA).
